Refugee Welcome Zones are Local Government Areas which have made commitments to welcoming refugees, upholding their human rights, demonstrating compassion and enhancing cultural and religious diversity in the community.
This public commitment is also an acknowledgment of the tremendous contributions refugees have made to Australian society.
The Refugee Council of Australia, co-ordinator of the Refugee Welcome Zones initiative, is pleased to be working together with the Welcoming Cities network to build a more inclusive and integrated society, which celebrates the many positive contributions of refugees in Australia.
