Knox is committed to creating a community that celebrates cultural diversity through community engagement and plays an active role in reducing barriers experienced by people from a Cultural and Linguistically Diverse (CALD) background by supporting initiatives that build social cohesion from the ground up. 25.2% of Knox residents are from non-English speaking backgrounds. In accordance with the Knox Community Access and Equity Implementation Plan 2017-2021, Council recognises that is has an important role in ensuring that all people are supported to fully participate in the community.
