The City of Willoughby is located 6 kilometres north of Sydney’s central business district, on the Lower North Shore.

Willoughby is a diverse community with a mix of landscapes, people, and businesses and encompasses a total land area of 23 square kilometers with a population density of 3,389 per square kilometer. Although primarily residential, Willoughby has significant industrial and commercial zones, as well as large bushland areas along the Lane Cove River and Middle Harbour. The city’s main commercial hub is Chatswood, which is well served by public transport including the metro and is known for its restaurants, vibrant weekly markets and suburban skyscrapers, while the suburbs of St Leonard’s Artarmon and Willoughby also serve as key commercial areas.

The city is home to 75,613 people, with 46.5% born overseas and 207 identifying as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander.
