The City of Adelaide has a resident population representing Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and migrants from over 115 countries. Social cohesion amongst our residents, businesses, investors and visitors to the City underpins our City’s strategic sustainable growth goal.
The City of Adelaide connects with our multicultural communities through Neighbourhood Development Programs in our Community Centres and City Libraries, Community Development and Arts and Culture grants programs and as a member of the SA Refugee Week organising committee. Participation in the Welcoming Cities Network and achieving the Standard will formalise Council’s existing activity, provide a framework to capture and celebrate this work and expand the ways in which the City welcomes international guests, investors and potential skilled migrants and support them with our City communities. Council is committed to enabling our community to make sure our new arrivals are given every opportunity to thrive and succeed in our city.
